ADVERTISING DESIGN



COURSE OF STUDY

The purpose of this course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills they will need to do free-lance work and to obtain employment with advertising agencies, print shops, publishing houses, industrial firms, and department stores. The program emphasizes basic procedures in the field of visual communication which include:

The students are given the opportunity to design, edit and produce high-quality printed communications that are necessary in order to succeed in this highly competitive profession.


Evaluation and Certification

A vocational certificate is awarded by Kanawha County Schools upon completion of the course.

Students are evaluated by written test, skill performance, and on daily participation every nine weeks.

Length of Course

Classes meet daily from 8:20 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Classes begin in September and end in June and run in compliance with Kanawha County School's calendar in regard to holidays and school closings.

Students may take this course on a half-day or full day basis.
